Satin Smoke Press is an independent small press, only publishing the works of author, Dianna Hardy.

Dianna writes cross-genre fantasy fiction that's twisted in plot, big on the romance, high on the erotic, with a dusting of humour. Her writing's often quirky, fast-paced and edgy ... she likes to break the rules, writing a mish-mash of fantasy, gothic fiction, horror, and romance – her books are often steamy / spicy / explicit, and while this is hugely popular today (especially in the romance and romantasy genres), in 2011, she was breaking new ground.

Her books touch on an array of unconventional relationships and societal taboos. Satin Smoke Press does not shy away from uncomfortable topics, but does wrap them up in a coat of supernatural fantasy - starring witches, demons, angels, werewolves and more - which makes the dark a little easier to traverse. Exploring these topics through fantasy fiction can heal wounds and bridge gaps.

As an imprint, Satin Smoke Press made its initial venture a focus on both eBooks and paperbacks, including novelettes and novellas - book lengths which were very popular in the 60s and 70s. At that time, before the digital age of books had peaked, the art of writing short stories and novellas (as most of the Sherlock Holmes  and James Bond books were) had been seemingly lost. We've been part of its revival since we began.​

Our mission: We want to produce well written, exciting books for a general adult audience, that blur the lines between literary and genre fiction because we believe good writing can be both eloquent and fun; intricate and in-depth, yet easy-to-read and accessible to all.
